All Inclusive
Your charter rate covers the yacht and the services of a professional Captain, Chef and Crew, along with everything you need for an exceptional time on the water. Expect every meal and snack prepared onboard, a standard ship’s bar stocked with beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks, fuel for both the yacht and tender, fresh water for showers and onboard use, cruising permits, immigration and customs fees, plus full use of the yacht’s equipment and water toys. Simply arrive, unwind and let the crew take care of the rest.
Not included: Your contract will confirm the details, but plan to cover items such as flights, airport or inter island transfers, ground transportation, water taxis or ferries, premium beverages and fine wines, excessive alcohol, dockage you request, personal fishing permits, extravagant requests and any off yacht excursions or extras you choose, like a nice dinner ashore or a land tour. On some yachts scuba diving and equipment are also extra.

Plus Expenses (APA)
Some yachts are quoted for the yacht and crew, with onboard expenses covered by an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA).
The APA is a prepaid fund set aside from the charter fee to cover onboard expenses such as provisioning, fuel, ground transportation, reservation fees, guest tabs on land and other guest requests. Your captain manages this account on your behalf throughout the trip and keeps a running record of every expense. Any unused portion is returned to you at the end of the charter, or you can elect to leave the extra as part of your crew gratuity.

Crew Gratuity Standards
Crew gratuity is not part of the charter rate, so we include it in your quote and you can see the true full cost upfront. Think of it as a service charge. Your crew are specialized professionals who take care of every part of your charter.
The standard is 20% of the charter fee, scaled up or down based on your experience. Some cruising grounds may have different standards for gratuity which we will advise once we work directly with you, but 20% is a great way to budget. Every final quote and proposal shows your Total Charter Fee plus crew gratuity at 20%, so you can budget without stress.
Booking a special offer? We encourage basing gratuity on the original Total Charter Fee. The yacht may be discounted, but your crew’s service stays at the same level.

Payment Plans
We’ll place a complimentary two week hold on your chosen yacht and dates while you check flights and review the standard contract. Keep in mind that holds can be challenged, so timing is everything.
After securing the hold, the next steps are to sign the contract and then provide an appropriate deposit based on your charter start date. Once your deposit is collected, the charter dates are yours!
- Booking within a year of your charter: 50% deposit when you sign and 50% before you board
- Booking further out: a 25/25/50 plan can often be worked out, with 25% when you sign, 25% at a set date and the final 50% before you board
The final balance is due 60 days before your charter. On Plus Expenses yachts the APA and any applicable taxes such as VAT are collected with the final payment.
Traveling with a group? Each guest or couple can pay their portion as payments come due.
Deposits are generally nonrefundable except as stated in your contract, so we always recommend trip insurance.
